Emergency Planning and Preparedness: Be Prepared New Mexico
The recent wave of emergencies and disasters, natural or otherwise, striking communities in Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, California, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and others, has brought new attention to the topics of emergency planning and preparedness. In New Mexico, our most recent natural disasters challenging public utilities include wildfires, drought, and extreme weather causing serious flooding and freezing. However, operational emergencies such as interruptions on source of supply, or equipment failure, require emergency planning as well. Case studies and advice from emergency planning professionals will be the topics of the opening panel presentations and closing panel discussion at the 2018 NM Water Workshop.
Session topics will also include water supply, treatment, and distribution; operations and management; stormwater; and wastewater reclamation and reuse. The Workshop will be held April 26 and 27, 2018 at the Marriott Pyramid in Albuquerque.
The Annual New Mexico Water Workshop includes:
• Vendor/Exhibitor Hall
• Operator Training
• Panel Discussions
• Social/Networking Opportunities
