2020 Rocky Mountain Water Conference

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

 

The Rocky Mountain Section of the American Water Works Association (RMSAWWA) and the Rocky Mountain Water Environment Association (RMWEA) have issued a Call for Abstracts for the 2020 Rocky Mountain Water Conference. The Conference will be held at the Embassy Suites & Conference Center, Loveland, Colorado, September 13 -16.

 

The schedule for submission of abstracts and acceptance are:

  • Call for Papers Open – Tuesday, February 11, 2020
  • Abstract Submission Deadline – Monday, March 23, 2020
  • Acceptance of Abstracts – Early June 2020


Instructions for Submitting Your Abstract:

Abstract applications must be submitted through RMSAWWA’s online system and contain all requested information.  Before beginning online abstract submittal please have the following items available for input: 

1.  Presentation Title

2.  Presentation Topic

  • Distribution / Collection
  • Laboratory / Online Instrumentation
  • Management / Planning
  • Regulations / Water Quality
  • Water Reuse / Resource Recovery
  • Wastewater Treatment
  • Drinking Water Treatment

3.  Presenter's name and contact information including phone and email address

4.  Presenter's affiliation (Organization) and title

5.  Presenter's bio (100 words or less required at time of abstract submission)

6.  Presentation abstract (300 Words or less)

7. Presentation abstract synthesized into two sentences.  If selected, this description will be included in conference communications and materials

8. Learning objectives of your presentation.  Begin your responses with verbs such as: understand, demonstrate, learn, recognize, implement, assess, etc.  This information may be used in conference communications

  • Learning Objective #2
  • Learning Objective #3

9.  Co-presenter's name and contact information including phone and email address

10.  Co-presenter's bio (100 words or less required at time of abstract submission)

Important Notes:

  • Separate abstract forms must be submitted for each proposed presentation. Multiple presentations must not be submitted on a single form.  If a "Special Session" with multiple presentations is proposed, in addition to submitting separate abstract forms for each presentation, an email should be sent to the co-chairs of the Conference Technical Program, Andrea Song (andrea.song@denverwater.org) and Victor Sam (Victor.Sam@stantec.com) highlighting details of the topic and listing which presentations are to be included in the session.
  • Presenters will be allowed 20 to 25 minutes for their presentation.  Please plan to include 5 minutes for Q&A at the end of your presentation.
  • Presenters will be required to register and pay for the conference by August 1st. Failure to do so will result in the presentation being cancelled.
  • All abstracts submitted will receive a response.
  • If your abstract is accepted, an acceptance email will be sent to you indicating acceptance.  Please respond with your commitment to attend and present at the conference in order for us to complete the conference program.
  • By submitting an abstract the presenter agrees that he/she will provide a substitute presenter in the event they (for emergency reasons) are not able to attend the conference.
