Board of Trustees
The RMSAWWA Governing Board oversees the Section’s operations and ensures all activities follow AWWA and Section bylaws. Board members commit their time and expertise to support the Section’s mission, attend meetings, and collaborate closely with the committees they serve as liaisons. They help train committee chairs, assist with committee planning and budgets, communicate Board decisions, and strengthen volunteer engagement across the organization. The Board meets monthly to conduct Section business and guide key initiatives. Board vacancies are publicized to members each year, and any member may apply. The open seats are filled by a Nominating Comittee comprised of the Chair-Elect, a Past Chair, and three other members. Members of the Governing Board are elected at the annual business meeting of the Section, concurrent with the Rocky Mountain Water Conference. Board trustee terms are staggered and range from 1-4 years, depending on the seat filled, and members may serve two consecutive terms. Chair, Chair-Elect and Past Chair serve one-year terms; the Treasurer serves a two-year term; and the AWWA Director serves a three-year term.
