The Rocky Mountain Section of the American Water Works Association (RMSAWWA) has issued a Call for Poster Submissions for the 2021 Rocky Mountain Section Fresh Ideas Student & YP Poster Competition. Registration information can be found  here.

The competition will take place on March 22, 2021 from 1-5pm.  The competition will be held virtually and participants will be sent virtual meeting invitations. Poster submissions should fit a 48" x 36" printed size. Posters shall be submitted electronically in PDF format ahead of the competition for judge review prior to live competition. Additional poster submissions details will be provided to registrants after the registration deadline of March 8th.

Competition Format - 5-10  minute presentations + Q&A, presentations will be conducted over Zoom video conferencing, networking event to follow competition before winner announcement.

Judging Criteria

• 10 points for the application of sound engineering/scientific principles to ensure the best solution
• 10 points awarded for poster topics that provide the most benefits to the water industry
• 10 points awarded for the oral presentation of poster questions and answers (where applicable)
• 10 points awarded for the organization of the poster

Winners of the competition will be awarded the following:

• 1st Place - Eligible to compete at the AWWA Fresh Ideas Poster Competition, taking place virtually April 16, 2021. (1st place winner of AWWA Competition will receive $500 cash prize and an article in the AWWA Journal). 1st place winner of the Rocky Mountain Section competition will also receive a complementary registration to ACE 21, held virtually June 13-16, 2021.
• 2nd Place and 3rd Place - Will receive complementary registration to the Rocky Mountain Water Conference in September 2021 which will be held virtually.

ALL REGISTRANTS WILL RECEIVE COMPLEMENTARY REGISTRATION TO THE ANNUAL RMSAWWA / RMWEA STUDENT RESEARCH CONFERENCE BEING HELD VIRTUALLY ON MAY 17, 2021: 

Please note that competition in the Rocky Mountain Section event is a prerequisite for entry into the AWWA Fresh Ideas Poster Competition.
