Moving Into Leadership

Karen Main
Innovations in Training

SESSION DESCRIPTION:

Leading a team in today’s workplace requires a unique blend of knowledge and interpersonal skill. Whether you’re brand new to leadership or an experienced manager, it’s important to regularly assess your leadership practices to ensure you’re providing the direction, support, and encouragement your team needs. This workshop offers an overview of the most effective practices to keep your team members connected and engaged.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand your role and responsibilities as a leader: what does my team most need from me now?
  2. Learn the Number 1 mistake new supervisors make when they first step into a leadership position: avoid this mistake.
  3. Learn 3 important practices to implement that will make a dramatic difference to your team’s performance and productivity: these three things will have a direct, positive impact on your team.
  4. Discuss the traits that will help you and your team navigate these tumultuous times and remain effective and whole: these qualities will help you and your team the most.
