Capital Improvement Program Overview for FY24 and Beyond

ABSTRACT

This seminar will briefly summarize the Authority’s planning process that is used to identify and prioritize capital improvement projects using our available CIP budget funds. It will include a brief description of the broad range of sewer, waterline, and facility rehabilitation projects that are undertaken annually.  Several large special projects that are currently in the planning/design stages will also be highlighted and briefly discussed.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPY:

David Laughlin, P.E. is a professional engineer in Oregon and New Mexico with over 25 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering.  His education includes a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and an M.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from New Mexico State University (NMSU).  Currently he serves as Division Manager of Planning & Engineering for the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority, managing a team of engineers and inspectors focused on design and construction of water/wastewater capital improvement projects for the Water Authority. 

REGISTRATION:

Membership in AWWA or WEF is not required. Registration is limited to the first 100 participants. All attendees must pre-register for this webinar by Tuesday evening, 1/16/24 at 5:00 p.m.  Water and wastewater operators will be asked for NM Operator Certification number on the online registration form.

The February webinar will be given on 2/21/24 and will feature a presentation by John Fleck from UNM. His talk will be titled “The Rio Grande, the Conservancy Act, and the Making of a Modern American City.”
