This scholarship provides $4,000 to upper classmen and graduate students who are pursuing studies in water related topics.

Mirmehdi Seyyedi

Mirmehdi is doctoral candidate at the University of Wyoming.  His research is focused on the impact of magnetic fields on pretreatment for RO membranes to reduce membrane fouling.  His interest stems from growing up in an arid environment and understanding the importance of desalination to provide water security.

Anthony Pimentel

Anthony is a doctoral candidate at the University of Colorado at Boulder.  His research is related to using ultraviolet light emitting dioes for advanced oxidation processes.  Specifically, using low input energy and selective wavelengths, combined with free chlorine, to create radicals that remove pharmaceuticals and personal care-products, and DBP in water.   Anthony’s goal is to work in advanced water treatment using and developing efficient and sustainable technologies to increase drinking water availability.
