2022 Warner Scholarship Winners
JAMES B. WARNER WATER STUDIES SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship provides $4,000 to upper classmen and graduate students
who are pursuing studies in water related topics.

 

Ayush Shahi

Ayush is doctoral candidate at the University of Colorado at Boulder.  His research is focused on improving ion exchange processes for treatment of water with arsenic contamination.  The goal is to develop regeneration processes to reduce the volume of hazardous waste generated during treatment.  During his studies he has been actively involved in AWWA including volunteering for ACE 2019, and as secretary and treasurer for the RMSAWWA/RMWEA Student Chapter at the University of New Mexico.  He is also a leader in the Colorado WASH Symposium, an advisor for Engineers Without Borders Nepal, and on the International Student Advisory Board at CU Boulder.    

     
 

Christophe Wakamya

Christophe is a doctoral candidate at Colorado State University at Fort Collins.  His research is related to geochemistry and hydrogeology.  His goal is to use his environmental geochemistry background to work to improve water resource management, governance of water supply, access, and treatment for countries like the DR Congo, which rely on mining for economic growth, but also need to provide ensure safe and sustainable water to its citizens.
