Aron Griffin Colorado School of Mines
Aron is also attending Colorado School of Mines and is a PhD Candidate in Environmental Engineering, studying advanced water and wastewater treatment processes. Research: - Aron’s research focuses on the removal and destruction of PFAs through high pressure membranes and hydrothermal alkaline treatment (HALT).
- Membrane work has included pilot scale investigations with industrial wastewater
- HALT work has focused on destruction of PFAs in industrial wastewater to understand the impact on co-contaminants on PFAs destruction rates.
Professional Goals and Aspirations: - After his undergraduate degree, Aaron worked for 4 years as a consultant gaining experience in water and wastewater engineering
- This summer he worked with a clean tech start-up on commercializing and scaling the HALT destruction technology.
- He is planning to pursue a career at the intersection of research and application. Perhaps, a professor at a research institution.
